Havana

Havana is the country's political, cultural, and historic center as well as one of the most common arrival points for international visitors. A first visit usually connects Old Havana's plazas and fortifications with the Prado, the Capitolio area, the Malecón, Vedado, museums, theaters, and music spaces. Havana's present settlement was founded by the Spanish in 1519. Its bay helped make the city an important Caribbean port, protected over time by a system of fortifications.
